Its definitely the EGT sensor in the up-pipe. I'm assuming you have a OEM one there still, why not get an aftermarket one? Its an upgrade and a fix.

 

my tuner removed it from my 03 because he said it's known for that sensor to break off also and go up into the turbo. so i have to order that bolt and get someone to take out the UP egt sensor and weld in the bolt?

 

Bro just get an aftermarket up-pipe. It works better and will save you in the long run. Plus, there will be performance gains. Do a search and you'll know why all wrx owners upgrade their up-pipe on their 02-05 wrx's not because of the gain but because of how the stock one is bad for the turbo as well.

If you already do have one. I would suggest just buying an Oil pan bolt from Ace hardware with a gasket and plug that hole on the up-pipe and the 2.2k ohm resistor to remove the code for good at Radio Shack. You will plug it in like this.

i took my car to the auto place where i usaully go and the guy who always works on my car and does a great job said the probe had no visual defects and that i could either just leave it since the light hasnt come back on or to just get a new stock sensor from the dealership
