Not that I know of. I had to keep crawling into my trunk to release it with the kidknapp handle, than came to find out I had to flip the switch on the latch. My problem was solved. Is this your issue, or are you having a different one?

 

That could be it. I haven't really looked into it yet. I'll inspect it all tomorrow. All I know is it worked fine one day, and the next it didn't. I can still feel a little tension on the lever when I pull on it so I know the cable didn't break. Something has come lose somewhere, I just have to find it I s'pose

 

Get it to pop, maybe you will have to do what i did and crawl in through the seat to hit that handle. Once its poped, go to the trunk deck and mess with the latch section on that. That is where that safety latch is. boggles me that they would put one on there like that, but they did.

Once I knew what I was looking for it took almost three seconds to resolve the problem. Good thing it didn't have teeth or it would have bit me when I was looking at it the other day lol
