i want to get headers for my car this summer, but im having a hard time deciding on which one to get. ive herd some of the pros and cons for both, but id like to get some of your opinions on what would be best.

thanks

I would personally go with unequal length just to keep the growl and make up for that loss over equal length in other places.. But if your trying to squeeze out the extra power and don't care about the growl go with equal length.

I agree with Paul. Check into Grimmspeeds PnP crossover and maybe even manifold. You can get a nice pcikup in power with them and still keep that nice subie rumble. But if you do want to get every last bit of power out of the car EL is your only bet really.

Imo if you want to keep the "boxer rumble" (which really should be called the "unequal length header rumble"), I suggest you keep the stock exhaust manifolds. Aftermarket UEL headers, doesn't matter what kind, will not sound the same. To me they all sound tinny, raspy, and cheap. Of course this is just my opinion. But if you're serious about performance and don't mind the sound, EL has shown to net gains all around.

im just afraid that it will sound terrible if i get an EL header. the sounds that i herd on youtube are not very consistent. some sound like a race bred exhaust, while others sound like hondas.
