I am getting a Forced Performance Green Turbo and was wondering if I should get a bigger TMIC or go for a FMIC. (my car is my daily driver)

These guys are right, there's no way in hell that i'd try a green on anything less than a fmic. Also, you have a good fuel system, but I'm not sure if it's going to be enough to support a green. I'd check out some of the profiles of other members that are running that turbo. I want to say that T WREX has one on his STi, you might be able to see what he's got going on and go from there.

oh my god yes.....Fuel System already taken care of. Exhaust taken care of. obviously will need the car retuned but that will be done at the same time

A bigger TMIC will handle a fp green perfectly fine. I know people running a gt35r with a TMIC and no issues whatsoever, in fact I want to say Lil shoaf is running a big top mount with his setup. If you want to keep a top mount don't be afraid it'll all be good. I plan on running a Perrin TMIC with an fp green.

You can do it with a tmic, but it's not going to be good enough. The green model turbo is a 400+ hp turbo, that's fmic territory all day. Ken was running a tmic up to 425, the green will do that easily.

Would you want a maxed out cooler, or one with a little more headroom?

I've never seen anyone break 420whp with a green. The average tune will produce around 380whp. If you want a FMIC it obviously won't hurt but I don't think it's 100% necessary either.

I can respect that. IMO, that's just beginning to push the limits of the IC at that point, but you're right though, it can be done.

The only reason I don't want a FMIC is because I'm going for a more stealthy approach for my car and you can only run certain types of intakes with them. Your right the FMIC will leave you with some more breathing room, but it will also create a smidge more lag. It all depends on what your going for.

Lag can be dealt with to a certain extent. WI is another option if you choose to stay with a tmic for higher level hp cars too. I've had the same thought as you about being more stealth about it. I would try and find the APS core that's best suited for the green and get it in black.

I like how you think. Meth injection is also on my list of to do's, it should be quite fun.

You could, but I wouldn't. I would use a bigger tmic. You could use the STi one, but there are better cores out there. Personally, I'd go with something like the Perrin, Helix, or the Cobbtuning tmic (If they ever get it into production).

thanks for the feedback, the reason i was thinking the sti tmic is because they're cheap. have you guys heard anything about ebay tmics? they probably suck but they're pretty cheap.

You could go with either one since the ads are pretty much identical. I'd go with the Godspeed out of the two. It was cheaper.

I've got an Ebay tmic, although I had inside info that this one was a Perrin knock-off. Exact dimensions and capacity, and bolted on with no extra modification. Came with a hard y-pipe too. Here's a pic of it installed:

It all costs about 300 bucks, but it's an excellent quality intercooler. I am very much pleased with it's performance.
