i am interested in selling a Subaru WRX Impreza STI, 2004, white.

my fiance and i broke up and i am left with the car. it is in pieces, he was planning to put it together. we had it 2 months when the engine blew up. the insurance paid out $8,000 and he bought all the parts to rebuild it.

whats the best idea: sell it as is (in pieces, nondrivable) or pay someone to put it together? i want to make at least $8,200 (to pay off the loan).

First of all, I'm sorry to hear that you have been left with quite a difficult situation to handle. However, it is hard to give any actionable suggestions without some details...

Who knows? Depending on what you have, a third option might be to sell the parts individually...

The first thing would be to make a list of all the parts that would be included in the "sell it as is" situation. Pictures of the parts (and the chassis) would help your cause as well. I realize this might be a daunting task, but it really is the first step towards closure with respect to the car in your possession.

Without those (at least), any recommendation is only a "best guess".
