Don't know if this helps, but any EJ block will bolt up to WRX heads. A 257 isn't the end all be all to a subaru swap.

I read about one that had about 798AWHP, how reliable or usable it was, havent the slightest. And how much it holds of course depends on how well you build it.

1st off which EJ20 are you talking about? B/c there is an EJ205 (US spec) and EJ207 (JDM spec).

No can give you an exact number. It depends on a lot of factors including the quality of the build/parts, quality of the gas, what dyno, and quality of the tune.

It would be a better to ask the person tuning/building your engine.

I was referring to a full longblock with STI heads. The USDM STI heads are set-up as DBW. It's just easier to use WRX DBC heads if your ecu is 02-05 MY and do the hybrid build. From what I've been told. I mean, if it's easy to change STI heads to DBC. Then do it, but I've never heard that.
The heads and throttle system (pedal, TB) are completely independent of each other. You can mix and match all you want. My friend has a full sti long block in his 02 wrx, and he's still DBC. It's just that if you want to keep AVCS, you need to be more creative.

Thanks WReXd. !Thumbs Up I just heard its easier to do it the other way. I've never had to do the build and I was going off what I've heard. So, thanks for clarifying. Its always nice to know what someone else has done and how its done.

I know im 10 years late but a 1jz would be probably not that hard and you wouldnt really have to push too hard to get 500hp with a turbo.
