I have a 14 WRX with stock Nav unit. Any recommendations for:
- Keeping stock Nav
- Stock speaker replacement and amp to power them along with a slim sub for under seat or something?
I have the hatchback, but don't want anything laying in the open,,,it's reserved for strollers....
If your looking to keep your stock NAV then you are limiting your ability to really control the audio interface, Most aftermarket head units have 2-3 crossovers with 4-6 RCA outputs that you can use to control bass, MID, and high frequency. As far as I know the stock NAVi doesnt have any RCA outputs so you would be limited to a similar line level converter if you choose to keep your stock head unit.
as far as speakers are concerned I would wait until you are ready to upgrade the head unit. Even on stock speakers an upgraded/aftermarket head unit will give you quite a bit more control than the stock head unit.
If you really want to upgrade your speakers then it would help alot to know what kind of music you listen to. Speakers are really about what sounds good to you. I listen to alot of Orchestral Music with some Bass heavy Driving tracks. For my money I like JL or Infinity component speakers.
If your trying to keep your floor space clear then i would look at NVX for small form factor amplifiers. they are tiny and they have enough power to run just about any speaker set
Don't mean to hijack a thread and turn it into an advice thread, Guys if you have any audio questions please feel free to PM me and we can discuss.
