I have a 2015 WRX Limited

I noticed a fair amount of ticking/popping sounds after turning off the engine earlier today. I imagine this is normal engine cooling but thought I would ask, as I have had the car for over a week and hadn't noticed this until today, when I filled up the car. I used 93 octane, so don't think it could be engine knocking, as I noticed it after the engine was turned off. This sound normal?

Welcome to the community,

Clicking, popping and ticking are normal. Usually it comes from your exhaust parts cooling down and contracting after you shut the car off. Because there are a number of different metals they cool and contract at slightly different rates and they make a clicking noise as they rub against one another. Nothing to stress about, Most cars will tick as the exhaust cools down.

As for Engine Knock, that not something that will happen when the engine is shut off. 93 octane should be great for your stock 15 WRX. Nothing to worry about there.

Hope that helps
