When you drive catless, the person behind you (and likely the person behind them) get to smell your exhaust. If you are not a juvenile d-bag, you'll put a cork in it. Maybe you want me to look at your car and scoff at how immature you are. If so, go catless.

So I found what looks like to be a reputable tuner here close to me and they are offering this, "We also offer a free dyno baseline for new Cobb AP customers! The Cobb AccessPORT is a great way to go from light modifications to 500 WHP craziness. I am happy to announce that all customers who buy from me are welcome to let me install their new Accessport on my dyno, I will provide 3 baseline before the installation, and 3 after". Now they are selling the Cobb AP at the retail price of $595 and I can get an "unmarried" one on craigs for $450 so is it worth it to buy from them and let them install it and get some dyno time. What if I want to put a DP on, do I see if they can do it or install myself then take it to them without it being tuned, it's about a 25 mile drive. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Harvey is well known. Get with him.

You can install it and then drive it to him. Just stay out of boost. OR... buy the AP, install the DP and then take it to him. Talk to him though.

I think I will just give them a call or just stop by there and see what they say. If they tune my car isn't that worth the $150 I would be saving by buying the AP on craigs, just seems like a no brainer to me. I just didn't know if it would be worth their time if I didn't have any mods yet cause I can flash to stage 1 with the AP, I doubt there is much difference between the Cobb OTS Stage 1 map and their stage one. However if I'm am wrong then someone correct me please. The only other thing I was going to do right away was the silencer delete and a drop-in filter. I might hold off on the DP for now. Thanks for the reply.

Thought I should add this since I'm about to get it in 2 days. Will be paying $11,000 for my first subie.

On the contrary, there is quite a big difference between an OTS map and a "pro-tuner" tune.
See I have been reading about that for the past 30 min and it seems that the protune would be better especially since the tune is somewhat customized and since I live up at 4900 ft it might a good idea to have them do it. Since they are reputable I'm just going to go with that option since I can pay $595, keep the AP and get dyno time for a tune. Sounds good to me.

If you're getting a custom tune, you don't need the AP. You can just get an open source tune flashed to your ECU and save the $595. Tunes usually cost about $300, so you'll get a better tune and save some money without the AP.
