I've been behaving and staying out of trouble but I couldn't pass these up.
Last Thursday a white C4 vette with two younger guys in it, looked 17-20 the oldest. Revs at me. Sounds like it has exhaust and the tires look a bit bigger than stock and it had chrome rims. I look over at him and nod. We both turn right on to rt. 34 and go slow to keep the traffic ahead further ahead. I leave it in 2nd and rumble around at 40-45 and then he just hits it before lining up with me. i hear his car first and then he is at my door because of the jump. i floor it in 2nd and gain on him fast and hit 3rd at his doors and smoke him like he was standing still. he tries me again from a 45 roll and he does jump again but at least he started closer than before. same outcome but i chirped 3rd at the nose of his car this time and put a couple lengthes on him then slowed down. the passenger rolls down the window, "you got stuff done to that?". i'm like "yeah a little bit" and smiled. he's like "This is bone stock." which is bs because i could hear the exhaust; those cars are not that loud stock. They claim mid 13's stock too. Funny race.
next one. on the way to the bar i come up on a yellow 04 GTO (single exhaust, not the ls2 400hp). this is the 350hp model. Don't know if auto or stick. i get up along side of him. open 4 lane highway. no one else around. im like this guy aint gonna race, what a p*ssy. and as i say it to my friend he hits it. i'm going 80 in 5th and slam it into 3rd and by 4th grear i had a car on him. slowed down. he got off the next exit so no chance to talk. i dunno if i could have taken the 05 with 400hp. with my gears installed, i should.
then on my way to school yesterday a silver sti is on my ass from when i pull outta my road to the highway. and it's an older guy! roads were a little damp too so he was probably pretty confident. little did he know i am nuts and will not give up the chance to race him. we start off playing around. little bit of weaving and im right on his ass at 100. then we get a break in traffic and i pull up on the left lane. both goin 80, i drop it into 3rd and by the end of the gear he was at my bumper then i hit 4th and left him at 115ish. he gave the thumbs up and everything after. it was fun. i thought he was gonna be pissed. funny an old guy messed me though.
my car is faster than i thought w/o the 4.10s in yet. i tried updating my sig a while ago it still says gears are in. it is all the mods minus the 4.10s. which i have but i have not had installed because of my ticket ha. i thought the sti woulda done better than that. with gears i would have put some serious lengths on him. sorry for the essay.:yawn:
Nice kills. You say a vette mid 13s? Stock? Thats not fast! I though those vettes were low 12 and high 11s. I hear there is a guy with a 06 wrx "good drive" that ran a 13.4 in his 1/4 mile. If vette that you raced only runs 13s should the 06s be able to keep up as long as there stock? I ran a 13.7 in mine and thought it was a good run when I was STOCK. No longer stock but havent hit the track latelly. Good kIlls!Thumbs Up

C4 is 2 body styles before the new C6. 91?-96 LT1 engine. most sites say 13.7 for them but chevy guys will say mid to low 13s. from a stop it'd be a drivers race against your car i'd say. if u can launch good i could see stayin ahead to maybe even 4th. i think up top a C4 could pass ya though
I do. I ran a 13.7 in my stocker and that was when I was a BAD DRIVER! . Now I got TBE system and AP on the way, I think I can run good 13 flat. With a good launch and run. xtreme look for the time slips and dynos. There is a whole section on this kids car. Its stock and shows dyno and then shows the 1/4 mile time. I believe it. Its a 2.5 I took a 05 and 04 STI so far. I never raced an 06 yet. But I ran both the STIs. " With my TBE on W/O cats " !Thumbs Up
02 wrx what are your stock gears? my brother has an ls1 stock it had 3.53 now 4.10 and it actually slowed him down. his friend with a stock ls1 runs 13.09 @ 107 with a 2.1 60' and my brother which car is modded runs 13.30 @ 102, 1.80 60'

i had 4.10's in the 96 cobra.. same set up as my 98 now but the 98 has about 25 more hp.
i am gonna have the 4.10's in either by miracle before the year is over or first thing in the spring.
gears will make the car almost a full second faster. traction is the problem. i ran 14.2's @ 103 at the track with the 96 with bbk o/r H pipe, flowmasters, steeda tri-ax shifter, aluminum d/s and 4.10's because i spun up till middle of 3rd gear. shoulda been 13.2's or in the area. the 98 now has better mods and better tires.. actually way better tires ha. KUMHOS SUCK!!! i'm def goin next year to the track because i didnt get to this year and trying to break a 12. 13.0's - 13.2 should be the avg but i need practice. it's a lot easier to race on the street than the track. i would take awd cars off the line with the 4.10s in the 96. definitly flys. there's a gear chart that shows my top speed is increased with a 4.10 and shows speeds at every rpm in all the gears. and i was very stupid with my friend one night and we saw 7300 rpms in 5th gear with the needle an inch past 160mph...ROFL smart right? and then i was like no way adn i checked online - top speed w/ 4.10s is 184mph. i had gone 150 plenty of times, even hit 160 and the lines never looked that blurry so i'd be safe to say i hit 180. never tyring that again.

indeed. with traction and practice driving at the track i could run 12.9 @ 107 with my current set up w/ the 4.10s in. right now i'd say 13.5's @ 104-105 w/o the gears. cobras fly on the highway. i redline at 6800.
well, my brothers friend (stock ls1 that has gone 13.0) had 4.10 put in his car Friday night, and yesterday on the first attempt at a 12 sec. pass broke his rear.
my brother has 13x26 in. bf Goodrich drag radials, his friend had 8x26 in. bf Goodrich drag radial.
tell him to get a built moser 9'' rear. never put a ring and pinion in the stock 7.5'' rear. theys suck. that is one of the biggest reasons i never got an ls1.
he is going with a moser 12 bolt. abs and traction control will still work. but yea nothing is as strong as a 9in.
my dad has a 6 sec vette, and a 7 sec nova waggon both with 9in. he has only broken one 9in, it took a 6000rpm stall converter, 1,800 hp, and 33x18in slicks to do it. that was a nasty sound!!
