is your +12 volt going directly to the battery? Check that you have a good enough ground. After that, the remote switch that goes to the radio. If that's all good, then sounds like the amp is bad.

I've also heard that the Boost Control Solenoid can be the culprit.. I have a similiar issue, and the BCS is the next thing I'm looking into.
