sleepr is exactly right, the stock tires on the wrx's are not a performance tire! infact things can get ugly if pushed too hard. replacing them is what should be done first.

i have a simliar feeling with my 06 when cold. what i've narrowed it down to is a driveline vibration(diff/driveshaft) it vibrates when cold because fluids aren't warmed up yet.
