I Cant Make Up My Mind..i Love Subarus But I Just Dont Understand

Alright heres the thing... i originally was supposed to get a 2007 subaru impreza wrx just the normal wrx for $24,995 ... it has 224HP and 226 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm.

as I was looking around on the internet i remembered reading about the mazdaspeed3 it seems like a much better deal then the subaru impreza wrx....the mazdaspeed3 only starts at $22,835 with 263HP and 280 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm with a six speed...i just cant understand y the subaru would cost much more then the mazda when it doesnt offer as much...plez give me your opinion's on my situation...
-thanks

awd>fwd.

the rex with handle better and yould have the awd.

263hp with fwd can anyone say torque steer.

its personal preferance.

imo awd is much for fun to drive.

I also heard that the Mazdaspeed is pretty much as fast as it's gonna get . Subaru is a different story .

theres just no aftermarket for the speed YET its only been out for a short time. give it time and there will be a decent aftermarket for it.

I don't remember what magazine it was, but they compared the two (wrx vs. ms3) and the ms3 beat the wrx in pretty much EVERY aspect, performance-wise. HOWEVER, the hired professional drivers all prefered the wrx over the mazdaspeed3... something to think about. Mazdaspeed3's are also very hard to get a hold of, which means you might end up spending more for it than you'd hope. In sunny southern california though, the awd advantage won't matter as much to you as it would if you lived someplace else with ample snow/rainfall. My advice is... test drive both of them as much as you can, and make your decision from there. Remember, if this is going to be your daily driver, going fast isn't the only thing that'll be important to you.

The mazdaspeed3 is quite new compared to the wrx, which has undergone only minor changes since its debut in 2002. This is why the wrx "doesn't offer as much" as the ms3 even though it's more expensive. At the time, (2002) the wrx was a GREAT performance bargain. Now it's kind of gotten old, and competitors have stepped up to the plate. This is why I recommend that you wait until 2008... the upcoming wrx will be subaru's answer to the new competition (such as mazda) that has stolen subaru's thunder.

From what I have seen the 06+ wrx has lots more than 224 hp...Stockers are dynoing at 190-200whp that would put them right up there with the Mazda.

You should go to Thousand Oaks auto mall . I was there the other day picking up gaskets and noticed they had a Mazdaspeed3 . The Suby / Mazda dealer is on the same lot so you can test drive both .

Drive them both, see what you like. If you like the MS3 better, then buy it, if you like the WRX better, then buy that.
