Subaru Legacy Pulls Stuck Chevrolet Silverado Out Of The Mud [Video]

We've all needed a tow one time or another, and for those who like off-roading, it seems to be inevitable. One unlucky Chevrolet Silverado owner found himself stuck in some not-too-deep mud, and the vehicle that was up for the job was none other than a Subaru Legacy GT, a family sedan with a pretty peppy turbocharged engine.

Conventional wisdom says that this situation should be reversed. But as the video shows, the little Subaru had no trouble hauling the big pickup out of the mud. Hit the jump to see the video below.

I've pulled and towed my share of vehicles in my Subaru for sure.

I have a tow rope in my trunk just in case

One comment about the video: if your 4wd vehicle is stuck in mud like that and nobody is around to tow you, try turning the front wheels in both directions to full lock repeatedly while steadily applying the gas. It gives the front tires something else to bite in to besides the slippery ruts they may be stuck in. A friend of mine who has a Jeep and does plenty of off-roading taught me that trick. I'm sure they would have tried that, but they probably didn't want to rip up the yard any more than it already was.

The two times I managed to get stuck was high centering in a mud lake. Mud was up to my side skirt when I was at stock height. And high centered in snow. Had to get out and push it off the snow.

Pretty cool...with that mod list, I bet the LGT had more hp/tq than the silverado anyway.
