Honestly it's not that bad.. After a short time you don't even realize it's there.. And yes, 5th is still a helical so it's no difference then before..

After i thought about it i figured it was some sort of straight cut gearset. How much and how is the tranny to take out.

You can spend a number of different prices for PPG sets depending on what you want to do. They offer everything from 1-2 only to a full dogbox.. I paid about 12000 for EVERYTHING that they offer, so that is the most you "should" pay. Ohh, that included the PPG Front LSD...

As for the Trans removal and such, I can now swap a trans in about 4 hours.. The first time takes a lot longer, but after a few times (5) I can do it myself in 4 hours so that should tell you it's not that bad..

that sounds so sick, is the shifting without a clutch? also is it difficult to drive?

Its a synchro transmission so you need to use the clutch and it drives like stock, easier actually...

All you guys say you love that sound and I know it is the strongest gearset available, but as a daily driver I would want to rip my ears off. To me that sounds horrible, I dont care how strong it is. Its like driving in Reverse the whole time. Good find, but I could not stand that noise while driving.

You could always use your skirt to cover your sissy ears

J/K with you, that is why PPG makes helical cut gears. Some people (like me) want strength, and some people want to balance strength with a stockish sound. Helicals are only 10% less strong than the straight cuts, and for any car under 500whp that is fine.

But you need to ride in the car to hear what it really sounds like, its really not all that bad and you tone it out real quick. I don't run exhaust because I don't like the noise, so I totally understand where you are coming from.

If this guy could only use a different finger. J/K I just thought these gears were really loud. But PPG does make a system that is strong like those, but not as loud. And if you had these gears you could launch your car all the time and not have to worry right. And like I said Im only kidding MX
