Wonder how it holds up to high amperage draw from accessories...

I was wondering that too. I know they make two different models. One is all season and one is just for the warmer months im assuming. A buddy of mine has one and hasnt had any problems with it yet.

So its to save 20lbs? lol thats what.. 1,000th of a second in a 1/4mile. Hmmmm not worth it IMO unless theres a better reason. I do like how the battery is sealed.

Well, 100lbs is approximatly 1/10th of a second in a quater.. Roughtly.. So.. 20lbs is what, 2/100ths of a second.. That could be a win or a loss.. But the thing that I really like about it is that it creates a lot of room, maybe for a catch can, inderhood gauges, or even my fuel pressure regulator.. If I didn't have a yellow top I would get it..

20 LBS here and there adds up. On my Integra that I had before my wrx I dropped about 200lbs from the car by removing stuff and getting lighter everything. No one item weighs enough to make a HUGE difference (altthough the ac + powersteering i took out were hella heavy). its all about the baby steps.

I agree too. I did the same with my old integra. Its kinda like wear a backpack full of books. The more books you take out of the backpack the more easyer you can walk.

Garage
That's also 20lbs. taken from a point that is relatively far away from the car's center of gravity. Think weight transfer...

Excellent point. Considering most front engine cars are obviously weight-biased towards the front, this is going to help with a better front/rear weight distribution, regardless how little it is.

Also keep in mind that you're talking about removing 20lbs from a corner of the vehicle so you are going to improve handling.

In fact, 20 lbs of forward motion when putting on the brakes could probably play a part in understeer also, as that extra bit of momentum could make a difference. I wouldn't be surprised to see a noticeable difference in handling with the smaller battery...

But yeah, I wonder how it holds up with accessories......
