Thanks a lot guys for that input. I will for sure be at the June event with a friend of mine that has a z, and probably my friend with an s2000. Any chance to get on the track is a good chance to me. Especially for that cheap. Any idea's what the availability of the track in pueblo is? I would like to go a bit more often than once a year, but am not ready to get into racing, just fool around and have some fun.

You should check out the pirates and do a search for Auto X ....you will find plenty of events for you to play in

Pardon me if I sound like a total n00b for asking this, but if I sign up for the roadcourse, what should i expect in costs for damages to the car (tires, breaks, etc.) I have never driven a road course and dont have a lot of dough to put out for things like that right away. Just got the car and have school to pay for. Can someone help before I register. I will for sure be there for the drags and other events.

Yeah, a road course virgin!!! If you're really interested in getting on a road course and learning how to drive your car fast in a controlled environment, you need to check out http://www.nasarockymountain.com. It's like SCCA but it focuses mainly on road course events. You'll get one on one instruction at each event from a pro instructor and it only costs about $125 for an all day event, or $220 for a 2 day event at Pueblo venues. Here's the schedule:
http://www.nasarockymountain.com/nas...=4561#post4561

Cullen comes up from New Mexico (his username is "wagonracer" here on this site). You'll have to come out to the events! If you're on a budget, you can always help work two event days and drive one event for free.

As for wear and tear on the car, you probably won't run through tires or brake pads in one event. But you'll want to make sure your pads have more than half the material they did when they were new. You'll also want to make sure you have a helmet to use.

My ears were burning !! I think I'm going to make it up for the road course Friday, just trying to figure out how to budget June. I may be going down to Texas for a NASA event at Motorsports Ranch, and we've got Nasa at Pueblo, and Flatirons tuning has an event (at the same track, subies only), and there's Albuquerque dragway, and open track at Sandia and ASR.... I need a bigger bank account !!

I will for sure be there. Not worries about the admissions, just worried about the wear and tear on the car. I just bought it a couple of weeks ago and dont want to do anything too bad to it. I will have the mileage on it to be a bit rough by then. I just broke 1k, so starting to push the gas a little bit. Still a little reserved. I will definitely take your advice on the track training in Pueblo. 125 is easy to do for a full day. As for other events, lets see how vacations and school pans out..... See you guys there for sure! Seems as though we are limited on Subies that will be there.

I wouldn't worry about wear and tear too much on a brand new WRX....just put new brake fluid in and you'll be fine

it looks like fun to me

You and me both, brother. I love motorsports like nothing else in the world. I just wish I made more money to support my habit.
