Emissions

For all of us that live in IL that have to take emissions....How do you pass? I have had DSM's in the past and they could not put my car on the rollers so it was very easy to pass with OBD-1. Any tips?

I will be running a APS 3.5" turboback exhaust with no cats.

you'll be fine. OBD port will be plugged in to looking for codes. So make sure you get something to flash the codes out, or a mechanical fix. I am not familiar with APS exhaust, but it probably comes with a "fix".
I just passed, with a nice boxer rumble, no questions were asked. Now i put Equal Length header and the car does not rumble much anymore, should be no issues with law enforcement or emmissions.

Or move to New Mexico, and you dont have emissions at all!!!

You could dump it right out of the heads if you wanted, and nothing will be said! (I do not condone any actions that will harm the environment or otherwise disrupt the public harmony)

Those tests are complete crap. Just moved to St.Louis & had to take the safety & emissions tests. While waiting for them to do their thing, got to talking about s**t with another guy about these tests, and found out the older cars (95&older) don't have to take them!?!?!? ? with all the built-in emission controls in new cars would'nt it make more sense testing old cars? Just a thought.

hey im know im a little behind on this post but i work for emissions in wisconsin and we still test old cars to 1968 we are going to stop testing 1995 and older in july. The reason they did this is because the ratio of 1995 an older cars to obd II two cars was substantially significant. There are a lot less obdI cars on the streets than OBDII. If you guys have questions pm me and i can tell you what to do....
