Baltimore Aquarium Meet

We will be having another meet amongst wrxtuners.com members. My thought is that it would be great to gather even more of us from even further down south. Lets see what happens;)

The turnout for the Hershey meet was great, even got to meet a local that none of us knew. So with that one in the past now and us knowing what were getting in to, the next one should allow us to cruise Baltamore at least 20 Subarus deep. (I'm hoping)

Lets get started.

When do you guys and gals want to do this?

Who is in?

Should we invite outside forum guys and gals as well?

ALL IN FAVOR!!!!!Thumbs Up:D:rocks:

Count me in! Just as long as it's not late January-early February.

BLAZE2099 09-10-2012 09:35 AM

Shut up Paul, three less hours for ya.
More towards the Tennessee type crowd

I should be in with enough heads up. Joshua is still getting settled in up in New York. So, it'd be a little while till he gets back on here.

BLAZE2099 09-10-2012 10:22 PM

I'm thinking late 2012, early 2013.
Can we get a vote on this?
I'm out of pto until late November anyway:(

brfatal 09-10-2012 10:28 PM

Maybe. It's not that far. Fells Point is right down the street. :p

I was thinking late February since Josh goes in ~March. I'll talk to the wife and see if she can put up with us again.

She was suggesting a cook-out type camping deal. More risk of rain but the cost is lower since we're cooking our own food and campsites are cheap. Any thoughts on that folks?

I like that idea better than the Aquarium because driving/parking together is going to be a problem in the city and it will definitely be more expensive.

Gambrill State Park in Frederick has several overlook sites, plenty of room to park, there are several large pavillions in case it rains, dozens of picnic tables and outdoor grills, bathrooms, and a small natural/outdoor playground for the kids. We could also arrange a scenic cruise to Antietam to check out the battlefield if anybody is into civil war history and there's also a pretty cool watch tower we can climb.

well, we could do both I guess. Winter time at the aquarium and then a summer cookout?

You can park in Little Italy (parking garage) all day for $3. It's like a 15 minute walk to the aquarium, however.

BLAZE2099 09-11-2012 05:19 PM

I'm down for a picnic/campout. (when it's warm)

turmic 09-11-2012 07:40 PM

Can also try to meet up at a parking place that is near the Light Rail that takes you into the city. I heard of people doing that from PA before. Because it avoids all the hassle of driving in the city and finding parking there. Just the Light Rail dictates your schedule to and from your car. That's the only down fall.

Do you want your wheels to still be on the car when you get back? ROFL

It's gonna be too cold for cookout/camping IMHO. February (per Mosc) is the coldest/snowiest time of the year.
