What are your power predictions?????
 
The time has come....fellow wrxtuners. I have been collecting parts for 2 years and it is nearly time to get them installed. I can't put it off any longer. Here is how my car (2007 WRX) sits right now. Im only naming engine/power mods here;
-Cobb TBE w/ heat shield
-Cobb Accessport
-SPT Intake w/heat shield
-protune by Jorge at P&L Motorsports at 232 whp and 256tq w 93 I think, dont have the sheet in front of me.

If you look at my profile I have many other parts listed, because I got anxious and jumped the gun and put them on there. I Have them but they are not installed yet.

Here are the parts that I have in boxes behind me (wife is getting irritated) and getting installed soon.
-Spearco TMIC
-Samco TMIC Hoses
-Walbro 255 fuel pump
-Injector Dynamic 1000cc injectors
-Perrin turbo inlet
-NGK Iridium IX spark plugs (one step colder LFR7AIX)
-Blue Cobb shift knob (adds 10whp, 12tq I believe)
-Protune by P&L Motorsports (Jorge is no longer there apparently which is upsetting, anyone had experience with their new tuner, Junior I think his name is) for 93 and E85.

Now keep in mind i'm staying with the stock turbo for a couple years as my 5spd is already in serious danger as it is. I was kinda thinking maybe 270-280 whp with 93 octane, but im curious what anyone with a similar setup is putting down with E85 with a conservative tune..
You give me your guess, and then ill post what P&L estimated..THEN I will eventually post the actual numbers. Pity I can't launch the car, I know I will be tempted. STI tranny or PPG in the works for next year!:rocks:

I'd look to [url=http://www.wrxtuners.com/forums/members/man-show/]man show[/url] for simular power. On 93 you probably won't pick up a lot of HP. E85...you'll see a nice bump up though.

Thats a tough one to guess honestly. Depends on the weather, the gas, how much more fuel, timing, ignition, so forth is added/taken away to make the car happy. Im with Kirt in thinking that you wont gain "noticable" power with 93. E85 on the other hand, should be able to get a nice gain.

Probably gain more on TQ than HP is my guess.

Junior is probably the most respected tuner of Subaru's in the US. You're in good hands.

Try to get a 50/50 tune on e85 and a regular pro-tune for 93

Most tuners will give you a 50% discount on multiple tunes.

A tune is apparently much more expensive there now. $450 per car + $100 for E85 map. I paid $250 for my last tune (3 years ago) at P&L.

I have talked to Man Show a couple times on here. I wasnt aware he was running E, profile still says 93.

Im not gonna say who I spoke with at P&L but I know he knows his stuff. He said well over 300whp on 85.....like 315-320+ with supporting mods. Which I thought was ambitious, on a conservative tune at that. I was thinking maybe 300? Does that sound right or am I seriously underestimating the E85?? I don't think I am.

A realistic 280 is tops on E85 with the tiny TD04. You'll make a lot of tq, but hp just maxes out and you start blowing hot air.

Now if the dyno has a crazy correction factor then sure, you can be over 300.

Generally speaking though, a good guess is 30-40 hp & tq going from 93 to E85.

280 on 50/50 is realistic... More if 100% (which I wouldn't do, but hey... that's me)

450+100 isn't bad at all really. I'll be getting another tune upcoming and will pay 400+200... Meh

The numbers I'm seeing look about right to me. The TD04 is a pretty tiny snail. But, you'll get a decent amount of TQ out of it and it'll be early.

It'll be like your first time having sex... It will be really great at first but it'll be over before you know it.

Only way to describe cranking the boost on a small turbo. You're going to be all OMG! from 2,000 or so until about 4,500. Then it falls off hard.

DO I have EVERYTHING required for a bigger turbo? Im not positive, but I think I do....besides a BPV (from my understanding the stock one is not happy past 300whp). My problem is, as said earlier, I dont want to blow up my 5spd this summer. It needs to last till next spring. Otherwise id throw a turbo on there in a heartbeat and save myself a few hundred on getting the next tune. Was going to do trans next year, turbo year after.....maybe by then ill have 35K on the car. Lol. Seriously, I wish I got to drive it more.
Here's an off-topic question. I installed Swift Sport springs last year (stock struts) and I am getting a TON of noise out of the front end when turning and going over bumps. I have disassembled everything 3 TIMES to make sure the struts were oriented correctly, springs seated, etc. Could it have something to do with the combination of the Swifts and the Perrin 22mm front & rear swaybar/endlink kit?? I had that kit on before the swifts with no noise. I dont get it. I will be taking it apart AGIAN when I get the car out next week. It's like a creeking/groaning sound. I am positive I re-assembled the struts correctly. WTH
