hey guys i was looking into getting the turboxs hybrid bov.its a 50/50 bov.it is a recurculating/vta bov.they say it dont make you run rich during shift or give the probls. a vta bov would give you.anybody using the bov and any opinions?
search for BOV on this site to find a ton of information. To summarize:
-BOVs don't give any performance gains and can damage your car if improperly installed (which is also easy to do)
-The stock BOV is good for more PSI than your stock turbo so you don't need to replace it
-the stock BOV is a 100% recirculating BOV (as required by law) so the air it expels goes into the intake. An "atmospheric" BOV doesn't do this
If you want to hear the BOV, any mod that removes the intake silencer will suffice. If you want your BOV to sound like a gun going off, a) you're a ricer b) buy a TXS RFL (really f-ing loud) BOV.
I would go with the GFB Hybrid over the Turbo XS for a bov. I havent seen the turbo xs hyrbid but i do have an h34 bov (recirculating) that used to be on my car and the quality of machining just isnt near what the GFB is. The GFB has way better surface finishes and it's adjusted from a screw that tensions the piston spring which is i think makes more sense than adding washers to adjust spring tension like the turbo xs. There is also the option of plugging a port so you can run it full vent, or recirculate on top of 50/50. I got the GFB and Id recommend that to anyone. It wont throw CEL and it has the full range of adjustability. http://www.speedelement.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=415&category_id=117&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=38
what about the perrin bov? My dealerships performance shop has perrin BOVs i dont know how much they are but are they better then GFB or Tubro xs hybrid?
