Too much for stock ???

Ok so after about a month of thinking about what exaust to get, I finally decided on the APS 3.5 turbo back exaust. So my question is this do you think that this is too much for a stock car as my first mod? I also plan on getting the cobb ap. thank you

That's alot of exhaust. But, I know where you can get a nice used one for cheap...

My car is well, it's like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag...

You can't really go too big for an exhaust on a turbo car. It's not like a NA car that needs a little back-pressure to prevent valve-float. The headers, up-pipe, and turbo provide plenty of back-pressure. Turbo drag cars run huge open downpipes that exit behind the front wheel.

Just be prepared to deal with cops for the decibles. I'd check your local law, then call APS and ask how loud it will be. If it won't be too loud, get it inspected after you install it. The DMV should give you paperwork saying it's been inspected. That way, if you get pulled, just show the cop your papers and he'll prob leave you alone.

are you getting a down pipe? If yes. you may get boost creep. If no, you can run a cat back forever without probs.

yeah, it does.

you may get boost creep. to be safe, you could just install the catbac until you get the AP. Then put the downpipe in.

Wow thats a great idea, I never even thought of that Now is it correct that you do not need to change the up-pipe on the 06 because it is cat-less?

The '06 WRXs are now catless as well. I am wondering if they are still sold as ULEV(Ultra Low Emissions Vehicles) like the '02-'05 WRXs.

It's the same as the 02-05. They probably haven't updated the site yet. The cars are the same in that respect.

So that means that the car being made longer for 06 has nothing to do with the length of the exaust?

06' longer? The '06 has the same platform as the 05's... the car isn't longer. The 06's are still ULEV's.
