tactrix ? and catted or catless on 06...

well i just picked up my 06 TR about a week ago. already starting to mod. just put in a k&n drop in filter and opened up the air box a little bit.. now i wanna go stage 2. i got rid of my tactrix cable for my 04... now i cant seem to find one for my 06. i mean i see some for liek 190 dollars now.. where are the ones that were like 70 dollars????
now my second question... i know its probably been covered how many times already but here goes... Ive always been a true beliver of no cat's in my exhaust... but i was reading up on some boost creep with these 2.5's. does the catted really rob much power on these? or increase lag? well any help appreciated!!! thanks!!!

Been searched and discussed many times. Its not that big of a restriction unless you want to make every last little bit of power past the 500 or so HP range. CobbTuning.com - Exhaust Design

The older ones are gone. The new v2 cables are more expensive. It is still cheaper than the AP or UTEC and you can log without the laptop.

Should work fine. You don't need a jumper for the DBW cars.

The 02-05 WRX has a 16-bit ECU where the 04+ STi & 06+ WRX have a 32-bit ECU. I would wager that they require two different ODB-II adapters. Cobb, for example, sells 2 different APs to cover those cars.

I could be wrong, I've never used the thing. I'm just saying I am suspicious that Kjott21 is confused on this one.

well braden from xpt confirmed if its 1.2 cable it will work. but if its 1.1 it wont. plug the cable into your laptop and load EcuFlash it will tell you which cable it is at the bottom right.

Nope... I use the same cable on my STi as I did on my 04 WRX.
