STi TMIC + tune?

Currently I have a 2007 WRX and I am running the 93 Stage 2 map from Cobb. I want to get an STi TMIC. Basically i'm wondering if i can do this without ruining my car or throwing the tune out of whack. If I switched to the 91 Stage 2 map but continued to put 93 in my car would this even me out from running lean?

You shouldn't but to really see gains out of it you should tune. If you're not going to tune for it there's no point in getting the tmic... I would also say don't bother with an STi TMIC and get an aftermarket. Perrin, Turbo XS, Process West (probably one of the best). Those, of course, will run you double-triple the STi but also give you much more volume.

The Perrin for the 02-07 crowd will be hard to get new. Its discontinued. The TurboXS, APS, Spearco, or a quality larger than STI aftermarket TMIC will be fine. But, if your going to put it on. You should be planning on tuning it at some point or it's worthless to put it on. You'll probably get a CEL at some point. If you don't get it protuned at some point. Cobb has the Access tuner race beta. But, I'm not that familar with it and how to correct a stage 2 map to include a larger than oem TMIC.

Pretty sure you can just run a bit more timing as you have a cooler air charge. Good catch on the Perrin's, I forgot that they discontinued their pre-08 models.

Yeah, they normally allow more air to be collected and a cooler air charge. So, it needs to be tuned for to avoid CELs and get the results from it.
