STI Question

Hey,

I got a question about the STI. It would be that is the stock ECU on the STI good? Since STI is a better model subaru than wrx wouldn't it already control air/fuel even if you upgrade downpipe and upipe? and if you get a boost controller wouldn't the stock ECU handle it? Or are they going to have the TXS UTEC too for the STI? If they do that will sux in one way which is the $$$ but in a good way that it will boost up your H.P. I was thinking about it today but I was saying that, the ECU on the STI should be good unlike the stock ECU on a wrx where you have to upgrade. Thanks

Mike

You can fit 6.5" in the front and 5.25" in the rear, but you will need spacers. Innovative Automotive sells spacer kits. The car is pre-wired, all you need is an adapter for your headunit and you might want to pick up the speaker wire adapters also so that you don't use the wrong wires. I know Crutchfield sells both of these.

thank you for ## information, i have already got the spacers, and am having trouble finding what else im needing off of the crutchfield web site. i put my car stereo in my old escort, but i want to make sure i don't do as crappy of a job on my 04. the only thing i can find is for subarus 1985 and up, how reliable is that, for the new design of the wrx and the sti, i don't trust that this unit will fit right. also i was thinking about putting the radio where the time is and mounting a small computer in that space. I found an almost perfect computer that with a couple modifications i can make fit, all i need it for is my settings, nothing big like 3ghz computer or anything like that. do u know where i can find the adapter for where the time is. ive seen a wrx with this set up at a car show once.

YOu can use a downpipe and intake with a boost controller. I use these together for our stage 1 package and it gives you about 30 whp gain with no side effects. Much more fun to drive as well. If you want to go further than that you'll need an emanage to tune everything in with. Our stage 2 is getting over 320 whp which is over 400 HP at the crank with stock cat back and stock turbo. No FCD required and everything is easy to install.
