I bought a 2007 wrx 2 weeks ago and was interested in getting exhaust for it I asked my dealer if it would void my warranty they told me as long as it was ordered and done by them it would not which is bs but anyway I was wondering if anyone has ran or heard the SPT cat back if so is it worth 600$ or should i hold off and get something like cobb or turbo xs systems when my warranty runs out.
A catback is more for noise than anything. You really wont get power out of it. Hit youtube up to listen to sound clips to see what sound suits you best.

I have the SPT catback on my 06 WRX. It has a good tone to it, and is fairly loud, although there are ones much louder. 600 seems kinda pricey though, I would look around and find a better deal, and a catback is a very simple install, you don't need to go to the dealer, save your money for something else.
96Accord's just pointing out (rather vaguely) that the SPT cat back uses the stock-like doughnut flange where most other cat backs use an aftermarket-like flat flange. Thus when/if you get a downpipe it will likely have a flat flange and cause you to need an adapter made.
muffler shops make adapters a few dozen times a day and charge very little money for it. It's really not that complicated a problem to address.
The Cobb down pipe fits with no problems. Quality is good and you can get it catted or not. It cost a bit more though. Of course none of it is any good without EM. Stage one and stage 2 are easy mods for someone looking for a quick daily driver. I have the SPT catback and the SPT intake with the Cobb DP and AP2. Stage 2's great for a daily driver with reliability. The CHP look for cars with 4 inch exhaust to tag here in California. The SPT looks stock because it fits like OEM.
If you have all of that...a pro tune still wouldn't hurt kmjd. Another member ran a stage 2 for about two years and his engine took a beating because of the richness. Jave is this member. He'd tell you the same thing.
Edit: More to on topic. I had the SPT exhaust on my WRX. I liked it. Not to loud and not raspy. Just a nice deeper tone then stock.
