Side car noise

On my 06 wrx I am running a cobb downpipe and a ebay catback. I seem to be getting a lot of noise from the side of the car when i am driving along side another car or a wall. Does anyone have any soultions to this problem or is it common? I have never had this problem with any of my other cars or trucks in the past. Even my dads vette doesnt do this with his after market exhaust.

Any help or posible solutions would be great!

What does your eBay cat back look like? I have an HKS Hi-Power cat back which has an angled exit and I get plenty of noise when I drive next to objects - the sound bounces off of everything and makes its way back to my ears which I find rather pleasant most of the time. On the other hand, I'm sure other people might find it to be rather obnoxious, but it's my car and I'll do what makes me happy

How long have you had this set up? Does it happen when a car is on the right? the left? doenst matter the side? It could just be the "echo" of the exhaust of objects. My car did this with oth setups I ran to inlcude my curren with a Cobb full TBE. It can be annoying sometimes, but to be expected also.

It sounds a little more like engine noise rather than exhaust. I love my exhaust sound. Thays why i have part cobb and part ebay. I love the deep rumble i get with the large can on the end vs the cobb. I just dont like the noise i get when next to other cars and walls.

So like i said its more like engine sound than exhaust sound. I dont know if they guys put a new gasket on the downpipe or not. I know i dont have one at the catback attachment cause i dont think i can. The cobb has the spring attacement to the original catback system and the ebay catback has the flat connection. Could that be where it is coming from?

Yes, you need a donut gasket there. It fits on the end of the dp.

If it's the SRS catback I think you are referring to (had one with a COBB DP)... The catback MIGHT be hitting a heatshield or a crossmember underneath.... put the car up on ramps and go under and move the exhaust around to see if it hits anything.
