I don't really want to burst your bubble here man but what do you think Pro Stock cars use??? they dont use auto trannys man, they have Lenco transmission, and the Nitro Funny cars only have two gears drive and reverse the changing of the tire size as they go down the track is the changing of their gear ratios, and an automatic is still very very hard on drive train, with the use of a trans brake when you hit the button to lock the trans brake you are engaging first gear and reverse at the same time in the tranny, then once you let off your gone, and yes its very hard on the drive train, i know this cause i have been using a trans brake since 2000 and our other car has a lenco trans in it, you only use the clutch to get off the line then you just pull back on the next handle after that and so on.
