Restrictor Pill Question

Ok here is my question for the day a few weeks ago I put on a Aem tru bc and replaced all the vacuum lines not knowing about the Restrictor pill ( its my first turbo car ) now is it bad not having it? I took off the bc because it was going crazy and hitting like 20 psi so I took my baby home before she broke or the check engine light came on... Now I read that if you have a bc you don't need that pill and if you have the cobbs like I do you don't need a bc. So what should I do if any one would like to help thanks ..I love my WRX and I don't want to f her up because I was a d bag and over looked something

Mods up/down pipes cobb ap and dc sport 3inch exhaust and aem tru boost but not hooked up untill i make sure i programed it right

the boost controller takes away the ecus abality to control boost so as you set boost to whatever all the other afr and all are set to what the ecu thinks the boost is. em + boost controller is noo good unless you get a protune. so no take it off. i did the same thing with a turbo xs contoller. it doesn't hold boost correctly throughout rpms, again, because the ecu is controlling wgd cycles with the boost it is trying to apply but can't because you unhooked factory bcs. boos controller salenoid

Yeah I would stop by a subaru dealer and get one. I actually just ordered one last week. Cost was $2.06. with out mine Im only getting about 8-9 psi. Im running a turboback and catless up. With Cobb ap. Hoping it fixes my woes also. I have a small mani to uppipe leak also which is next on my list. The ugly sounds Im getting suck ha ha. Good luck man

Oh btw. I did the same thing...was replacing all the vac lines and pitched it un knowingly...the one it goes in is the short one right off the top of the turbo. looking at the front of the car its to the right of the "t" fitting.
