the exhausts i went through till i find the right sound........expensive. the borla with acatted dp was quiet, but it droned. also came accross a few other exhausts that were quieter. maddad whisper, no drone and quieter. cobb to loud. spt ok, but sounds a little tingy which i hate. jic spartan type2 sus quiet, really. fujitsubo extremely quiet, but not enough growl for me when i needed it.

Well... if you did get the SPT and got in trouble, it's hard to argue something that is readily available at the dealer, installed by dealers, and backed by SOA.

Yes, the Borla mid and rear mufflers are strait through. This also includes the hush rear muffler that is a dual outlet.

if you going to put a muffler on a wrx, your best bet is to go all out not get a quite muffler. When i got my exhaust done i went all out and took the cats out. when i see a cop i get on it to make it loud. I know some of the state police around here and when i see them i get really loud and they laugh its pretty funny..... But the others just stare me down.

Since when do cops like tuners with loud exhausts...are you kidding....in california at least cops are straight edge ###s that will pull you over and give you a citation amongst other things somehow if you have a pretty loud exhaust

Has anyone tried the scooby sport? I listened to a few wave files of it; It sounds reasonably quite and has a nice deep tone to it. I'm trying to make the exhaust decision for my new 07 wrx as well.

You can get magnaflow universal with twin 3inchers tip on it. Personally it looks like stock but better looking so it does not attract police attention. Best of all its straight through, no internal baffling unlike MRT oval. Sound wise its very deep, smooth, nice burble and very quiet u wont hear the burble much at idle. You wont wake your neighbour up when going back home late. The bad thing is you gotta get piping done on it to install. Its not a problem and providing u run up to 300hp mandrel bent or press bent made no difference so its up to you.
Bolt on magnaflow?? too loud.
I agree with w211 here to go with magnaflow universal. I have the magnaflow too and love it, they are cheaper on ebay but I wanted a warranty (the salt on the roads here in winter kills an exhaust) so I got it here magnaflow 15871, or you can try one of the vendors here, they are always running sales/specials. either way its a great system and very easy to install.

Love my Borla Hush. Not too loud at idle and normal driving, but beast when wide open!
never been harrassed by the po-po and looks factory.

I have the borla hush and it is pretty quite and sounds real nice.

Also, I hear the maddad whisper is even quieter.

I thinking about getting a side exit 3" exhuast for my '02 wrx, just wondering how loud it be? I just got the car last week. I have a custom 2.5" with a magnaflow, but the mandrel bends are shorten 2" which restrictive if I want a to get a 3" downpipe....
