Questionable Headers?

I saw these headers on ebay, they look cheap, I mean they're only about a hundred bucks anyway would it be a waste of money or a cheap 5-10hp? I'm not sure how to hyper link so you'll just have to copy and paste. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-03...QQcmdZViewItem

The top end gain that you might see with those will be offset by the low end power that you lose. If you're not running a larger than stock turbo and have head work done to raise the rev limit, it's a waste in my opinion.

My car is well, it's like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag...

You will spool your turbo faster with the stock one's.
But If you get some real HP in the motor I would get the aftermarket ones.

But this is just my 2 cents.

you could lose low end torque changing these things alone. but of course unleash more high end potential should you go that path but you need other mods otherwise 1st scenario applies

Wouldn't the headers help when used along with a TBE?

the stock turbo runs out of oomph on it's own on the top end. Headers sacrifice bottom end to open up top end but your stock turbo can't take advantage of that so it'll basically only reduce your low end, cost you money, and that's about it.

Plus, most if not all headers on the market for the WRX were designed for the 8000rpm redline JDM STi so they're a poor match for a stock USDM motor. Power gains in the 6-8k RPM range do you no good.

04 STi 16G powered lagless fun

from what i understand, lilshoaf is running stock manifold. if not him, someone else was running about 500 hp and running stock manifold. the header is yes for topend, but if stock turbo, and puttin anything less then 400hp i wouldnt change it

i'd be cautious of any headers that only cost 100 bucks.

What if you had the OEM exhaust manifold ported and polished?
