opinions on what is needed to race

coming this spring i want to get into autox, and drag. i currently drive a stage 2 sti with coil overs. i figured some gauges would be good, i am getting boost, and want a temp gauge. but i am not sure what temp to get? also from what i understand some sway bars would help with the under steer? my goal is to have the car mainly dd but with some race in her. which i think stage 2 with coil overs is good. so if their is anything i am missing give me your opinions on what i can to do to put a little more race in her.

depending on how often you do it and how long the sessions are you might need:

upgraded brake pads
ALK might come in handy
tires
intercooler tilt mod? (help keep temp slightly lower)
put some ice in the intercooler spray reservoir

and call it good

Good safety equipment (you probably know already) helmet, gloves, suit, and harness
Some type of racing school classes
Lots of tires
Lots of oil and other fluids
Lots of good friends (they are cheap crew members)
All the spare parts you have or come across for cheap that might break or wear
Remove all excess weight possible (this is free!!)
Anti-roll bars
IMO you should focus more on handling
Make friends with other racers and crews they can be very helpful
Floor jack and jackstands
You might not be allowed to use your I/C spray because of getting water on the track so the ice idea might not help

thanks i think i will just put a boost gauge on it and call it. the inter cooler tilt i did that months ago (recommend to everyone it does make a difference although not that big of a difference). and yes the high miles are on my mind i enjoy going around corners fast, so i figured do it on the track instead of on the street to "feed the need"
