new turbo for 06WRX

Hey guys...
My friend is asking if upgrading from a stock tdo4 to a big 16g or evo3 16g be a good upgrade or should he just go straight 18g.
He wants the car to hit 270 to 280 whp.
Thanks!

The 16g is a GREAT all around turbo for street use on the 2.5 I think it would be a good idea with an upgraded TMIC. thanks

Go with the evo 3 16g. The flow difference is almost identical between the e316g and 18, but with the e316g you get better spool. That along with the 2.5L block and supporting mods would be a great steet car.
