From the factory our cars are heavily restricted on airflow.

My first advice would be to check with Cobb Performance and see how you like their exhaust systems. I currently have a Cob SS3" catless catback system and love it. Its more expensive then most other exhaust out there, but the quality is definately noticable. It looks only slightly more aggressive then stock and is loud when YOU want it to be, as opposed to all the friggin time with other exhaust.

Once you open the airflow up a bit then I would suggest getting a tune. Cobb has an EM that does this admirably, called the Accesport. You would need the V2 of this little gizmo.

So...
Downpipe, Catback, Panelfilter and Engine Management and I bet you will be VERY Happy with how things feel.

Welcome btw
Have fun modding!

Start off with Some sort of EM and then get your turbo back exhaust.

Welcome to the club. Like stated above, read to learn and understand first. Best place to start. But lik also mentioned, research EM (Engine Management) probaby the best place to start with modding.

first of welcome. second, let it breathe and em is a great start to get some good power. then if your budget allows id go for a good coil over setup and TIRES.
those would all give good results. as for bpv. its pretty much just for sound and your stock airbox will be fine if your not gonna do anything to crazy
have fun.
