Great new option from Mishimoto for those who want an intercooler upgrade but don't want the hassles of going with a front mount!

This new TMIC fits 02-07 WRX and STI with stock location OEM or upgraded turbos.

Mishimoto did a ton of engineering and testing on this unit to make sure it was a worthwhile and effective upgrade. On their test WRX (305hp with 18g bolt on turbo) the intercooler kit produced gains of 14hp while reducing temps by 30 degrees!

You can see the complete engineering report here: http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/yhst-62631657248580/MMTMIC-WRX-01-EngineeringReport.pdf

Now for the good part! How it looks in your engine bay of course! :D

The intercooler kit is available with Silver or Black powdercoated bar and plate cores with either black, blue or red reinforced silicone hoses. All color combos are in stock and ready to ship!

Sale price is: $580.00

Great product, excellent engineering, and awesome price too!

Would you please update this thread with your impressions of fitment when you next get an opportunity to install one of these new items? How it fits against the WRX splitter, for example. We'd appreciate it.

I want one!

Figured we should chime in to help answer your questions! The stock splitter fits very well with our cooler and allows us to take full advantage of the available airflow. Although our cooler has a slightly larger footprint than the splitter, the hood still closes perfectly and allows the rubber edging to provide a nice seal with the cooler. Check out a few shots of the cooler and splitter together.

Let me know if I can answer any additional questions!

Thanks

Glad we could provide assistance! The duct you see in the images was removed from our shop vehicle, a 2003 WRX. This component is identical for the 2004 models and will fit exactly as you see.

Thanks for chiming in Mishimoto!

LW: page on of the engineering report mentions the test vehicle was "2004 Subaru WRX with JDM 2.0L STI engine swap".

:D
Thanks! We tested this on numerous vehicles and the fit was perfect on each!
