not yet, my MBC comes in today, they say not to use MBC's because of part throttle full boost which causes the engine to run lean without proper EM but i have a cobb stage II so i see partial throttle full boost anyways, I'll let you know if my MBC throws a code. i to plan on setting it at 15-17psi

Boost Controllers and You...

If you decide to part those cars out after you blow them, I'd be interested in the brakes. I like the '06 brakes.

No sympathy from me. It's a big azz sticky at the top of the Newbie page. But, but, but... my car is different. Like I said, I'll bid on the brakes when you part them out.

Look guys, it's pretty simple. Ditch the mbc's. Most engine management will control boost for you using the stock bcs, this is the safest way of doing it.

You guys are on the fast track to destroying your engines.

Consider yourselves warned.

i have my MBC, installed it, set at 17 psi, works fine, no codes, no ill effects. car pulls at 17psi to about 5500rpm then the turbo isn't big enough to hold the psi to redline, when i get my 18g that shouldn't be a problem. i plan on running 20psi with a pro-tune, not saying that everyone should get one, just saying that I'm very pleased with it.

You're going to get a pro-tune when you get the new turbo? So... you aren't running any sort of aftermarket engine management now? 17 psi on an '06 with no (revised) EM. How much over stock is that on the '06... 3.5 psi or so? How long have you been doing that?

Are you doing a science experiment?

"How long will my 2006 WRX's motor last at 20 pounds of boost and no engine management."

Not long.

Have fun.

well i plan on getting a protune when i get my 18g, and I'm running 16.7psi according to my (AP) so thats about 1.7psi more than the targeted boost. been running this since Friday, have logged it many runs to make sure my o2 reading are not lean, and I'm not getting any knock. The car feels very smooth. The main reason i have A MBC is to hold my targeted boost. otherwise i was running 1-2psi short of my target boost levels. MY engine isn't going to mysteriously blow up because I'm using a MBC set at 1.7psi higher than stage II.

who said anything about running a MBC set to 20psi, with no EM. my car is set to 17psi. with EM and has been logged, again i say my motor isn't going to mysteriously blow up because of a MBC, not a NOOB I know how to log and check my work.

Sorry, I guess I missed the part of your first post where you mentioned you were running AP. Still, sounds like an "interesting" approach. Good luck with that.
