just picked up an 06 wrx... avcs screens...

hey guys had a question about my oil screens... does mine have them in the avcs lines? and the one on the back of the head (turbo feed)... should i remove them all? i only run mobil one oil in my cars and change oil religiously.

also i read that some people dont like mobil one... any other oil you guys prefer? (one that i can just go to the store and pick up..)

I use castrol GTX. It's much less money. My tuner swears by it in all his cars. Synthetics are overrated.

sludge slowing you down? lol.... yea conventional would be fine if the oil change is changed religously. i do so maybe ill try out castrol gtx...

any word about the screens tho? i know this has been beaten to death on nasioc. but i couldnt find a real answer... if I have the screens. maybe ill pull one of the avcs lines out today and look...
anything to look out for on theses cars? (06-07)

There are several posts on this. It's a 2.5L engine related issue. AVCS screens were pulled late 04. The oil screen line is left in. You can pull the screens. Pulling the AVCS won't help much. But, your AVCS screens should already be pulled. Pulling the turbo oil screen will prevent clogs and starvation...but don't ask a subaru dealership tech to do it. Because they'll tell you it still prevents a carbon deposit from making it's way to your turbo. Basically, i see it as a fail vs fail situation. Just make sure you change the oil religously and you shouldn't have to really worry about it. Unless you plan upgrading your turbo and will need the increased flow.
