I've made 291 whp, on a dyno dynamics dyno. This is with the stock td-04 with a horribly heat soaked intercooler.

No need for an UP in an 07.

SO.... an 18g is safe and will net about 295-300 WHP...... Looking to get the same.

Truthfully, and this can go for evos as well as wrxs, I would not want to make 290 to 300 plus hp and especially tq without upgrading my tranny first. Think about it, you dumped all that cash on the motor, as well as tunning and install, but just ignored one of the most important pieces, which is the tranny. truthfully if you know you want to make 100% more power then stock, then you should really look into some gears and clutch. Do it right the first time.

As long as the driver is responsible the tranny doesnt have to be the limiting factor. But if you do want to get on it every once and awhile, yes do look into a tranny upgrade.

i think 320whp should be fine. Just don't drag race and you should be ok..Not everyone has 5,000 for some gears. Its all how you drive.... Has anyone made over 300whp and been ok? There has to be some one out here.....

Garage
not many old timers here anymore but there used to be a lot of folks running VF34s and various Big/EvoIII -16Gs that made 280-300whp with em and were still going strong with stock trannys.

I hope I am not asking for it by going for 320whp.. I am at stage 2 and everthing is ok. I drive nice and easy.
