my question is does a beat up intercooler effect performance much? mine works just fine just the mesh is getting kind of bent and shribbled up, heard is fine others told me to change when i have the chance. Its stock im sure from the day it rolled out of japan. Anyways i was looking into going with another stock or mishimoto i know there is many brands to choose from what has been your experience with the brand you went with thanks?
Well if you want to bring your stock back to looking nice you can spend the love (AND LOTS OF TIME) into bending the fins back into place. Just take 2 flat heads and go to town. And its free!
I didn't think of that but that is a good idea I'm going to try it. Besides we all would me lying if we said we don't love spending time with our cars I spent like 5 hours last week polishing and cleaning in engine bay trying to make it look like new
I dont reccommend the flathead screwdriver just because your working with very thin aluminium. there are really inexpensive tools designed to straighten radiator fins that work great on intercoolers.
If you have a high pressure air hose you can also flip the IC over and blow out all the built up road debris and numerous dead bugs out as well.
