I'm sadly asking a BOV question

Before you ask, I have read all the bov discussions and threads but I still have no direct answer, everyone keeps saying different things. I just wanna clarify some things. If I were to get an aftermarket BOV would i be causing damage to my 04 sti? Does venting to atmosphere really make it run rich and cause stalling issues? If so is recirculation better than vent to atmosphere? Is there any difference with an aftermarket bov on a stock sti compared to a stage 2 sti or stage 3? I love my subie and i dont wanna hurt her =/

Best write up: Blow Off Valve FAQ: Read if you are thinking of buying one! - NASIOC

If you want your car to run properly full recirc is the best way to go. If the stock BPV isn't leaking don't change it. Save the money and buy something that will improve performance and not just make noise.

+1 to that. Stock unit can hold pretty well for the most part. If it starts leaking get yourself a nice BPV (recirculating).

If you do not know how to tune/set an aftermarket adjustable BOV then I wouldn't worry about getting one.

I was thinking of getting the Turboxs hybrid BOV just for some extra turbo sound, but I heard it will decrease gas mileage (wrx is the daily driver!!)

Your BOV doesn't affect gas mileage unless it is leaking and making your car run rich.
