I went stage 2 last night.

Installed the DP and flashed the stage 2 map on the Accessport. Wow, just wow. Love it. useless post I know, still giddy. My apologies.

This is on the car I bought in November with no intentions of doing a damn thing to.

Should have done the datalog before and after... With the AFR's of course.... :D

Glad you like it.... Now take it up to Plano after a couple more mods and you WILL be even more happy.

Chris-pee 03-16-2012 09:21 AM

Would a protune be that much of a difference over the ots map? I am going to log it over the next few days, with the afr's or course.

Chris-pee 03-16-2012 09:33 AM

Here is a question, Where the Dp meets my SPT catback, its leaks a little. I used the flat gasket that came with the DP and it obviously does not seal very good. Any cost effective suggestions? Can I use the doughnut gasket that was on it ?

pzr2874 03-16-2012 10:41 AM

You could TRY the donut gasket and that's preferred.... If that won't work, use a crap ton of torque and the stock spring bolts with the paper/metal gasket.

As far as the difference between an OTS map and a specific tune will be immense.

Besides, your car will love you for the "special" attention from a pro-tune

weld it!!

...
.......no dont! I was kidding;)

Nice!
It's just like day & night right!
I had my car Stage 2 but then the clutch went so I reinstalled stock DP and reverted back to stage 1 to try to buy some extra time on the slipping clutch.
Hopefully I can get it back at 2 this weekend with the new clutch in. How I miss you Stage 2. !Cry!

Did you go catless?

Chris-pee 03-16-2012 12:02 PM

I have a mig welder, and the thought crossed my mind for second lol. Yep, catless downpipe. Little bit stinky.

I was not expecting that much of a difference, really need to try and stay out of trouble. I wonder how long it will take me to get used to it. Stage 1 lasted a week before I didn't notice it anymore.

pzr2874 03-16-2012 12:17 PM

Stage 2 "should" keep you happy for at least a yr.... In the meantime suspension/tires/etc.... need attention.

Chris-pee 03-16-2012 12:42 PM

I do really need to focus in the suspension. The understeer is killing me in this thing. I would like the brakes to have a little more feel as well.

Chris-pee 03-16-2012 12:45 PM

Are the KYB AGX's worth a damn on a wrx? We sell them here @ work but have not had any experience with them on a WRX. I was thinking that, some stiffer, slightly lowered springs, bushing and sway bars.

pzr2874 03-16-2012 12:54 PM

I know several ppl that use them... but not sure as to how they handle/hold up. Do a search on here.

Chris-pee 03-16-2012 01:00 PM

Will do .BTW, I know I am a cheap bastard, but the DP I used was a Megan. Nice welds, flanges welded outside and inside the pipe also. Wasn't the cheapest one nor was it near the most expensive. Fit like a glove in case anyone was interested.

Not much else on HERE. Clubwrx.net has more, but I can't get on there here at work.

Here's a good place to start since your 07 is the same.
