Slicks would be better to compare to awd but still. 500 vs 311 = bad driver. I do agree that the wrx is more of a track (autox or road race) built car, and I would love for mine to have 300awhp and handle
while the car itself is putting out alot of power, you can't call that a bad driver, respectively.street tires fwd car with a turbo that is probably to big for it's own good is the problem. you should probably also know that they are at 6500 ft elevation in a desert. now on the street, the srt destroys everything from sti's to viper's, while the wrx can manhandle the road racing.

but my point was that if you build for it, the wrx can be potent in drag racing, although i prefer to use such a car in road racing much more.

i was quoting someone else... the guy siad sti guys focus more on shifting to stay in the PB than they do on driving the line... i dont know how you got shifting faster out of that anyways.
btw the wrx is a better drag car than the sti because of the 5 speed. theres one less shift and its lighter than a sti.

im gonna agree with 03Rex04 and say your friend blows at driving sorry. even without a laucnch a 530 whp car should run at least mid 12s.

theres a 440 whp talon here at 6500 feet as well that runs 11.1-10.8 consistantly on street tires.

a 311 whp rex should run mid to low 12s at altitude.

perhaps you don't understand what 500 hp does to street tires. the driver of this neon happens to drive 10 second mustang, not that it has much to do with the neon. but believe me when i say tire spin in a front wheel 500hp car is ridiculous. you spin all the way through 3rd.

so please, before you say he blows, get a 500hp fwd car and see if you can handle it.
i'm not trying to be rude, but you seem a little disrespectful. perhaps i'm reading to much into the text.

the point i was making with the post is, the neon was not made for drag racing, hence no radials. it was built for street racing(to each their own) and daily driving. the target of the neon happened to be high horspower cars from a roll, which it was very successful at.

you have to realize at 6500ft 311hp = close to 260hp. you also have to realize that when you're racing in the desert, you're not going to get optimum degree in temperatures to run great times.

i live in reno man i know about high altitude and shitty temperatures. im not trying to be rude either sorry if i came off that way i had a long day and im kinda in a bad mood. on street radials i know 500 hp would be no fun. i dont know why you would build a street car up that much but like you said to each his own.
are we good sorry i came off like a dick.
