How hard is it to install a new turbo in a 04 STI

I dont have a STI, and I dont know where the turbo is at in the engine. Is it hard to take out that stock turbo and install a bolt on? Anyone know how much would it cost ? ( I know I have to upgrade my other stuff like fuel injectors, etc.)

If it is fairly easy to do, then i might tell some mechanic friends who helped take out a 3000gt engine and replace it with a new engine help me out.

Thanks

It's not really that difficult of a job but that sometimes depends on the turbo your installing. The stock turbo inlet is very fragile and can sometimes break on you when trying to reinstall the turbo. Also If you're installing a turbo with a 3" inlet you may have to shave down your tgv motors(i had to) or remove them all together for the turbo to fit. This thread will give you an idea of what's involved. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1072836

It's pretty easy it will take you no more than an hour to take out and a little more than an hour to put back in. What turbo are you thinking about putting back in there?

It's so easy, a caveman could do it.
