hks catless downpipe?

Thinking about buying a three inch black hks catless downpipe, used on two vehicles apperently. He wants $100 just wondering if any one has anything to say about the quality. Hoping it's a good product and good price. Hoping for any feed back. I just want a good cheap down pipe for my 06 wrx Thank you.

From what I've been told. HKS makes a poor downpipe. Consider a quality bellmouth DP. Cobb, Invidia, and others...

+1 to that. HKS is supposedly similar to the stock design which is horrible to say the least.

If it looks like this picture, you'd be better off taking that piece of garbage to the recycling center and running away with any money they might give you for it. If it's HKS's new bellmouth design, that's a different story, but it doesn't sound like it is. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive downpipe, check out Invidia's bellmouth pipe. They make a decent product at a reasonable price.

go for a bellmouth design. Avoid the non-bellmouth DP that HKS makes.

rollin on 17's now and they're dirty

I was thinking... that HKS downpipe might actually have one advantage over the stock piece - it might save a few pounds of weight because it's not loaded with heat shields or a catalytic converter, but that's probably about it. Even without a catalytic converter, the blank plate design is still extremely restrictive, so I don't imagine you'd really see any significant performance gains out of it. A bellmouth downpipe is what you want.

I had the hks on my car for about 8 months, it sucked, the fitment was so poor, running a bellmouth now, it is so nice flows alot better too. Save your money and buy a bellmouth, I sold my hks for 75 cause i just wanted to get rid of it
