Helix Power Package Stage #1

http://www.gruppe-s.com/Subaru/PowerPackage1.htm

I was thinking about getting this as my first mod. I've heard a lot of good things about Helix and since I'm 17, I don't exactly have a large budget but, I have enough money saved up to get this package. Then after I save up some more money I can get a Cobb AP. So this sounds good so far right? The only problem is that I don't want to drive around with a catless Downpipe so... Do you think it's possible to get a Highflow Downpipe instead of that Catless one? Should I just send them an e-mail or what?

In Georgia we have the plug emissions tesing(OBDII testing, according to genkidama20) but, my friend said that they might change so yea... I don't think it's a good idea to go catless.

That would be a great first mod especialy for the money you can't go wrong. I would just go cat less and keep your stock DP incase you need it for emmisions.

Yeah catted downpipes are costly so I'd say go catless and keep the stock downpipe for emissions. Also, you can look into the Magnaflow or a used catback such as the STi catback for real cheap.
Helix DP: $225
*used* STi catback: $150
That will save you some money and give you some good #'s.

Oh yeah, have you thought about having the Cobb AP as your first mod? You can flash to the 1st stage and you'll feel the difference.

Don't understand what you mean by "how is the installation for the STI catback?" It's like any other catback installation I would believe.

what is the pipe measure on the STi cat backs? is it 2.5?
And while we are talkin about exhaust i was wondering... would it make sense to get a 3 inch catless downpipe and get an axleback? or would the small piping on the stock mid piping cause some sort of hinderance? then again, there are alot of axlebacks out there that are nearly the same pricing as a full catback right? I was thinking this path more for sound suppression, so that its not TOO loud, and hoping that the stock midpipe would do some sound suppressing... any thoughts?

It's very easy, a simple bolt on

it depends, some downpipes are "short" and don't replace the midpipe, most others are "long" and replace the downpipe and the midpipe. this is the one i would aim for. and go with a full catback, not just an axleback. your goal is to have a full 3" free-flowing exhaust system. if you're looking for sound suppression look for Borla Hush catback or Stromung

Will a catless downpipe give me any boost creep? Because i was reading a thread at clubwrx.net and it said that a catless downpipe WILL give me boost creep but, a highflow will not. So should i still go catless or highflow?

You will get boost creep but a little boost creep won't be so bad until you get your EM.
