Get a GrimmSpeed BCS and a retune. Your max boost is 15 PSI. No wonder you are dissappointed.

on a mustang dyno an EJ255 stage 2 is usually 210-225whp, yes. The VF39 should be ~30whp higher though.

Eh, if the stock splitter still fits it's better than nothing. Either way will work.

I'm wondering if this is something I'm going to have to contend with, as far as I know my BCS is stock. Is 15 psi the top as a standard, or is this circumstantial? I'm getting protuned (finally) in early July and of course I want my VF39 to do all it can, do I need a beefier BCS to get the most out of it, or is this a case by case circumstance?

I thought they were good to 20, or am I thinking of the stock bpv...

It's up to the tuner. Many tuners know how to... manipulate... the stock BCS into higher PSI. Others use manual boost controllers and adjust the tune accordingly. You should not force a tuner to use a mechanism for controlling boost they're not used to.

That said, the best tuners generally like a GM BCS or equivalent along with ECU driven boost.

Thanks Mosc. I figured it was all about my tuner's final say. I'll talk to him and get his opinion.

You don't NEED one but it will be easier with an aftermarket BCS. You will have to mess around with different size pills and whatnot too keep the stock BCS. Aftermarket BCS's respond better and control boost better.

Yeah, better than my numbers. What BCS and are you catted? I got 255 awhp and 280 ft/lbs. I'm running the Cobb catted TBE though. With a perrin BCS.
