You can get mufflers all over the place. I can't think of any off the top of my head but I'm sure it's not hard to find and maybe someone else can chime in here on that.

As for the up pipe, you don't need a new one until you get a bigger turbo. You have an 06 and that does not have a cat in it.

Not sure how many it has... I want to say 2 but maybe someone else can confirm? If your dad is making your catback then getting a muffler and the downpipe is probably your most inexpensive route. If I was you I'd get a nice dual tipped muffler to keep police away (they like fart cans) and a resonator to put before the muffler to keep the crappy noise away.

They have 2, none in the up-pipe though, so leave that stock.

so i should leave the 2 cats? just curious y 2?? isn't one enough? and does resonator steal power?

the muffler i wanted was maybe like a magnaflow or dynomax, i want a low deep tone.. something quieter.

Get Helix catted downpipe (it will be enough cat wise) make a midpipe with resonator or buy a full TBE. You will really want a resonator, your car will make your ears bleed if you do not.

Yes, but I do not see why.

When you get the downpipe, it will be a 3". Your axle back will most likely be 3". Your midpipe will be 2.5". Do you see the restriction and turbulence in your exhaust system? Just get a TBE. How much were you looking to spend on your entire exhaust?

A 3" turbo back can be had for cheaper than 9 bills if that is your problem. If your pops knows how to weld, you can weld up a 3" system and be fine, but it might be a bit tough. If you do not have the money, I would look on Nasioc and get a used name brand setup for around 500-600 bucks and be very happy with it.

Having driven a car for 2 years without a cat and dealing with the problems associated with that, I'd advise you to get a 3 inch high flow cat if you can. Having a straight pipe is burly though and if you can get away with it, it's better than a high flow cat for performance.

The high flow cat keeps you from getting crap all over the back bumper from exhaust, keeps it emissions legal, etc. If you don't have to worry about emissions in your area and you have a dark colored car then I'd say go for catless though, unless you're a tree hugger.

I don't think those mufflers are all that great for boosted cars because their internal design is much better for motors that want some back pressure. If you'll notice on a lot of our mufflers, they are pretty much straight through with very little restriction or anything like that. I'm speaking in terms of a muffler from those companies that you would throw on a transam or something like that. I don't know if they have any boosted motor mufflers.

i got my exhaust done last nite. went with w/ 2.5 in custom catback w/ a magnaflow dual tip muffler. and this is the best muffler i've had. at about 2k rpm silent as stock punch it to about 4-5k and it sounds low and aggressive. i recommend this muffler for anyone looking for a low aggressive tone.

KN dropin w/ Velocity stack
Magnaflow catback
