drive-by-wire and throttle cables

so i did alot of searching here and in nasioc about the how they compare with each other on our cars. so it looks like they started the drive-by-wire system in 06' for the wrx and the sti(someone can correct me if im wrong). so i read in some threads in nasioc and other links and basically both the 06 and the 07s have a dead spot in the gas pedal. (some described it as giving a slight amount of gas and nothing happened and would stall their car sometimes when taking off slowly). some people said it can be adjusted with enginuity and through tuning.

so my big question is for drivers that had both the types of throttle systems, is how big is the difference and the response, and if u did have a problem have u tried to fix it through tuning yet?
