BOV & FMIC & Exhaust for my 06' STi

Hey Scoobs. I am looking to go with HKS or APS or Cobb with an entire engine makeover. I want a front mount with a bigger turbo ultimately. My goals are simple; make as much reliable power for an everyday driver as I can on pump gas. Thats it. So I will have a few questions to which I will post under this thread as they come to me over time. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Does a recirculating BOV have as much or the same kind of sounds as a atmospheric? Is there a performance issue besides possibly starving the engine of air as the atmospheric can do. thanks

Would most BOV's sound about the same or the same loudness?

If I plan to upgrade the engine of sorts what kind of exhaust should I be looking at? A turbo-back with a high-flow catalytic converter is what I'm thinking. I've been looking at the Ansa cat-back exhaust which sounds really nice but with that and leaving stock downpipe would I be hindering my progress as far as engine mods?

I am looking at getting new tires soon. Are the Sumitomo HTR Z decent tires? They sell for $63 each on tirerack.com. They may sound cheap but was curious if anyone has experience with them.

I personally un-hooked the recirculation hose and plugged the line it is now atmospheric and still the stock blow off valve it made it plenty loud. try that b4 spending a bunch of money on a different one that will pretty much sound the same. i have an intake so the air isnt an issue. the theory behind the recirculation is, after the air is cooled it recirculates to the intake while still cooled, but in all actuality it is already hot by the time it gets back to the intake so its really not important.

To answer your question about your exhaust. Getting a catback that you like the sound of is important, but to unlock the full potential of the car you will have to get the downpipe also. Along with all this that you want to do, dont forget about Engine Management either. I dont know if you have it, but it wasnt mentioned. That should actually be your first power mod there. Its the only one I have right now, and its really nice having a smoother flow of power through the car. Good luck with meeting your goals though. Keep us posted as to how it goes.
