So I have noticed the dp i keep looking for ( the helix catted high flow one) is back ordered on every website i go to and i hear its been discontinued. I really wanted this one because it would pass the "sniffer" test in california just not the visual one but as long as it passed the sniffer one im good. If anyone knows where i can get it please let me know otherwise i was thinking the cobb catted one. Will the cobb one connect to my hks hi power cbe if i use the dp adapter? or does that only work for a dp connecting to the stock exhaust? If so can someone please recommend a catted downpipe that will connect to my aftermarket cbe
Naaaah, you don't need that. I have a Cobb catted dp mated to an HKS Hi-Power Carbon-Ti cat back and the two fit perfectly together. Cobb's dp was well-engineered and is set up for a cat back with either a factory donut-style connection OR a flat 3" 2-bolt connection.

And your positive on this man show? so the donut style slides into the 3" inch exhaust perfectly and you just bolt it on? Also how do you like the sound?
Yep, positive. The flat 3" 2-bolt gasket slides past the part where the donut flange would sit on the tail end of the Cobb dp. The part of the Cobb dp where the donut gasket would sit is slightly smaller than 3" so HKS cat back slides right over it without even touching it. That part actually sits inside the HKS cat back slightly. It will work perfectly, I guarantee it. You might want to get two slightly longer nuts and bolts though because I remember the factory spring bolts were a real pain in the @$$ to compress and reuse, but it can be done. And the sound is glorious. It can be reasonably quiet if you're rolling through a neighborhood late at night at low rpms and don't want to stir the cranky neighbors too much, but under normal driving and especially WOT, it's great fun. I really enjoy driving next to Jersey barriers, through town, and through tunnels where the sound can really bounce off of everything. I wouldn't say it's quite as loud as a Harley Davidson, but my family members claim they can hear me coming home from several blocks away. They don't say it's obnoxious, they just hear me coming.

Man show, I tried giving you rep for that. Thats a great explaination of both the exhaust, but more importantly how the DP and CBE mate up. I forgot thats the same exact setup you are running.

Which aftermarket downpipes are available with at CAT?
Cobb, Helix, TXS, Invidia, and many others. Also, many exhaust shops can custom make something for you.
Thanks new, I tried to rep you several times before too, but the system told me to spread the love elsewhere. I think instead of little green bars, we should get little Subaru ovals or little silver turbocharger symbols or maybe even the letters S-U-B-A-R-U in sequential order.

The rep system is FUBAR. Basically it's just a measure of how much I like you since global mods seem to be the only ones who can dish it out whenever they feel like (and you only have one of those).
Seriously though I try to keep anybody green who's said anything useful, 2 for those who are routinely helpful 3-5 for those with real expertise, and more for dumdum cause he makes us all look like nublets.
